General Rules for Good Health
To keep yourself healthy please read the section from 148-151 in Book 2 in Age Without Alzheimers and then go to the Agewell Cookbook page 222-286 for recipes to enjoy.
- The supplements necessary include vitamins A and D, C and E, bioflavonoids, selenium, and all the B group. There are many commercial formulations which are made especially for this purpose.
- Enjoy some moderate exercise outside in the fresh air and sunshine, preferably every day, but at least three times a week to get your vitamin D, help yoUr balance and avoid osteoporosis. Walking is good. Dancing is fun, no jarring or jogging.
- Use some natural essential oils as drops, particularly in a base such as sesame oil with antioxidants to stop infections. Use vitamin C as a cream on the skin where it will be absorbed to keep skin healthy, stop sun cancer, balance your nervous system and your hormones.
- Use antibacterial or antifungal herbal treatments in creams, extracts, teas or homoeopathic drops from a knowledgable health care professional for ills if necessary.
- Use non-invasive natural methods with no side effects wherever
possible if you are ill.
- Self-expression in singing, laughing, meeting people and enjoying creative recreations is helpful against depression. Don't just rust out sitting in front of a TV set.
- Have fun, play games, use every means to control stress in a natural, pleasurable way.
- Revive the spirit. Keep your spiritual path clear by making some time for meditation, prayer, reading, music and quiet contemplation each day.
